  • Last Stop

Well, this will probably be my last post here @ Xanga.  It's not something I use anymore, and I'm trying to re-appropriate my free time from checking the many different social websites.  I still have my "official" blog @ http://impleri.net.  That will not end.  I'm taking a big step back from MySpace as well.
It's the day before my third wedding anniversary and I love my wife more than ever.  We'll be moving to Scotland in mid-September and we'll be there for three years.  When we return, I will have a PhD in theology and hopefully a job that utilizes that degree.  I also hope that I will complete everything necessary to enter the military as a chaplain.  From here in Denver, this is anshauung signing off for good.

  • Feedback

Last week, I completed an application to a school in the UK for a doctoral program.  Today, I received an email from the professor who I'd be studying under wondering if I had completed it because he is "eagerly" awaiting it.  I'm sure it'll be hitting his desk any day now (all school have a time frame between the time they receive an application and the time it gets to the proper department for review), but it's nice to feel that the application is a mere formality.

  • More Applications

I have been working on my PhD applications for next year lately.  I have my sample writing after getting a good review from my advisor.  The hardest part was hunting down professors on break to get an answer as to whether they'd write a letter of recommendation for me.  I finally hunted down enough today!  I have written my statement of intent, intellectual history, CV/resume, and whatever else these programs are asking.  I finally get to send everything else off and have this expensive and tedious process done!
Oh, here's a list of all programs I am applying to:
Religion @ Duke (near Raleigh, NC)
Religion @ Princeton (near Phila, PA)
    Religion @ Emory (Atlanta, GA)
Philosophy @ Fordham (New York City)
Theology @ DU/Iliff (here in Denver, CO)
Theology @ Princeton Seminary (near Phila, PA)
It's strange that the area I wish to study can be classified in any of these three departments.
